SCOTTISH BORDERER’S DEATH.
Mrs. C. Gardener, of 4, Neptune-street, Burnley, has been officially informed of the death of her husband, Pte. James Robinson Gardener, of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers, in action in France on September 25. Pte. Gardener was an old soldier, having previously put in eleven years service in the Army. He re-enlisted on April 25th, and was sent out to France in July. He was 41 years of age, and leaves his widow with three children.
