HOLDEN, ERNEST AIRLIE - Son of Samuel and Elizabeth Holden, of Barrowford, Lancs.

Express and Advertiser, October 21, 1916
BARROWFORD OFFICER
Dies From Terrible Wounds.
Official news was received on Thursday of the death, from wounds, of Second-Lieut. E. A. Holden – only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Holden, of Mount Pleasant House, Blacko. Information had been received on Wednesday evening from the matron of a clearing hospital that he had received terrible wounds in action, both legs having been amputated below the knee. Mr. and Mrs. Holden departed immediately for London, intending to make the journey to France to see their son.
Second-Lieut. Holden was formerly in the Public Schools Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, but received a commission a little time ago, and was attached to the Loyal North Lancashire Regt. He was a young man of much promise, and very popular in Barrowford. He was 23 years of age, and a salesman for the firm of Messrs. Holden Bros. manufacturers, Barrowford.

I think this one is on the site somwhere, not that it matters - I seem to remember asking if this is the son of the Samuel Holden who had the mill in Barrowford.
