2233 Lieutenant James Foldys Hitchon, "Y" Company 10th Battalion, attached to 11th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment killed in action on 1st July 1916 aged 21 years. The son of George Henry Hitchon and Margaret Hitchon (Foldys) of The Grove, South Promenade, St Anne's-on-the-Sea, Lancashire. A native of Burnley.
Remembered with honour at the Queens cemetery, Puisieux
