Location: Derbyshire Peak District
77484 Private Reuben HEAP, 45th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps who died aged 20 years on the 18th August, 1916. The son of Joseph and Kate Heap (nee Slater) of "Burnside", Todmorden Road, Burnley. Commemorated at Contalmaison Chateau Cemetery, near Albert, France.
Reuben left Southampton on 07/08/1916, disembarked Rouen 08/08/16 and was killed in action 10 days later.

Hi Shattonblade - do you have a picture of Private Reuben HEAP?

Kris is heading up to Burnley next week to gather information on those who served in the forces. I'll ask him to add this soldier to his list of who to look for in the newspapers.

No I haven't Mel sorry, only just discovered him. Have now collected a few Soldier relatives from Burnley and am thinking of maybe next year going over to Belgium/France to photograph their memorials.
