My Great Uncle Tom Dean remembers:- "when the North East Lanc's went into battle on the Somme. I can still see the telegraph boy with a fist full of telegrams, going into the 60 houses in Hardwick Street. Every door was closed and opened only to his knock. There was hardly a house which did not open it's door." Glenys |

How sad! Have you seen this site Glenys? http://www.burnleyinthegreatwar.info/ It's been around for quite some time but there is a lot more content of late. |
