Post subject:  Sad memory of the War

My Great Uncle Tom Dean remembers:- "when the North East Lanc's went into battle on the Somme. I can still see the telegraph boy with a fist full of telegrams, going into the 60 houses in Hardwick Street. Every door was closed and opened only to his knock. There was hardly a house which did not open it's door."
