Fell Like A Hero

Pte. Harold Maden, 6794, whose former address was 13, Smith-street, Burnley, and who belonged to the Lancashire Fusiliers, is officially announced to have been killed. He had been missing since September 11th last year.
Deceased, who was 23 years of age, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Maden, who formerly resided in Smith-street, Burnley but now live at Lower Audley, Blackburn. He was formerly employed as a pattern maker at the Burnley Ironworks where he served his time. He was connected with St James's Church, Burnley.
His parents have received letters of sympathy from Pte. S. Chadwick and Pte. R. Cliffe, both chums of the deceased, who express the deep regret of themselves and their pals at his death.They stated that he fell "like a hero."
