It’s difficult to say, I’m not so certain now. In one there is a definite dimple in the soldiers chin, the other, if he has a dimple, it is not obvious. The eyes look exactly the same to me, and the shape of the mans jaw line is slightly longer on the fuller face. The ears look similar in both photos.

I have not seen a lower rank soldier with a pistol on his belt and this appears to be the same in both photos.

Also, not that this is anything, but neither men are wearing wedding rings.

Another thing I noticed, the barrel of this mans pistol is very long. Perhaps the man is shorter, and it’s not as long as it looks, but the handle starts at his elbow and the barrel is near his wrist.

Yes, I think he does. It’s like a signet ring

Does this photo have a studio name on the back? I think this photo was taken outside but there should still be a photographers name on the card.

The straw-hat in the photograph is very similar to the one in the advertisement, dated 1924.

Nothing at all on this photo to indicate photographer. Many of the other photos have photographer's names etc. Also some have names noted on the reverse. Any information that I have can be viewed if you click on the photo. Thanks for continuing to help!

I have now 'switched off' Mollies Attic as the site storage space is/was getting a little low. The images that have been linked to within this topic do still remain active but I have moved them to other areas of the site and amended the links in the topic posts. Marie is aware of this taking place.

Thanks Marie for sharing these images with us over the last few months. I hope we have been able to help to answer some of your queries.

I'll send you Marie's email address Kris. I don't think she visits the forum these days.

Not yet Kris. I've been bogged down with VAT stuff. Will find it today.
