I don't know if any of you are Twitter users but I have created an account for the website. I'll post updates there, it might bring in more interest? I'll post a twitter link thing somewhere on the main site later.

To follow us, it's either my email address if you know it (though I won't post it on here as I don't want excessive spam) or username which is Briercliffesoc (Briercliffe was already taken and it won't allow many characters). Briercliffe Society should also find it or the direct link is

I had to use Twitter in my job, and I just don't get it. It's full of self promotion and pointless nonsense.

I don't get Linkedin.com either. What is the point?

I agree Kris. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either but if it's a bit of free advertising, well I'll put the effort in. I'm 'following' several big genealogy sites, magazines and that sort of thing - who knows where it might lead. Like I say, it costs nowt.

I twitted/tweeted (posted) yesterday that I had adding a to the newsletter archive this week.
When I get round to adding the rest of your pics, I'll tweet that. I also did one about the workhouse records.

I'm also 're-tweeting' some posts from who I follow....more hits?
