I have now started to add parish register transcriptions. For the time being, these will only be records that I can access from home.
If anyone has any transcriptions they would like added, please PM me and we will discuss it. (Even transcriptions for just one surname).

Not yet complete transcriptions but records now available for Haggate Baptist Chapel, St James Briercliffe and St Bartholmew in Colne.

I'm am updating the church records almost daily at the moment so check back often.

Baptisms for St James' Briercliffe are now complete from 1841 through to 1900.
I am currently working on the marriages.

A word of advice when you are searching the church (or census for that matter) records on the main site. Try and think up the most ridiculous spelling possible of the name that you are interested in. I have found some that caught me off guard lately. e.g. Borros, Borras and Burras (Burrows perhaps). Also Durdin which I can only assume is supposed to be Duerden or Dearden. These are just 2 examples, there are more!

Thanks Mel, I have over the years found many different ways names were spelt. Brierley, Brearley, Briearley, Brily. Kippax, Keepax, Kepak, Kippok. Etc Etc Etc. Always worth putting obscure spellings in as they might not be so obscure.

I have completed the burials for Haggate that I have access to here at home. They only go up to 17 April 1857. Obviously there are many more but I will have to travel to view and transcribe them. I will do this as and when I can.
