From what little can be seen, is the other guy holding the same flag. They must be the linesmen.

I presume this is Annie Leaver (1904-1959), daughter of Thomas Leaver (1874-1924) and Margaret Alice Proctor (1881-1940). This Leaver family lived at 14, Cross street, Harle Syke.

I'm not sure Kris, I'll email Mavis to ask if she knows. She pops in but is not a member on the forum.

I think the two dark haired girls are the same person but I'm not so sure about the girl with the fair hair (end of row in large group and sitting on chair in the other).

Re: Unknown Football team http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... 20Team.htm

The uniform of the unknown football team looks similar to the one worn by the Haggate Sunday School Champions (1922-23) http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... mpions.htm

Well spotted Kris, I think it is definitely the same strip, but not sure it's the same men.

Some excellent looking photos on the site, I must say. A shame that I still can't find any to pinch, erm, look at for my own tree, though. Does no-one tend to come across Kippax photographs?

Random thought: has anyone yet worked out which grave the grave digger in the 'Briercliffe Men' folder is actually digging? I know it's a bit creepy to give the matter thought, but if the grave was found, then the photo could be dated extremely accurately...

Yes Stephen. Kris took a photo of the grave though, if I remember right, there is no stone on it.

You only have to ask and where possible, we will provide a better copy of the pictures Stephen (with permission of the submitter where applicable).
