Yes Gloria, this turned out to be the wrong Joshua. This Joshua's father was born in Halifax though his Gt Grandfather (born abt 1731) is from Burnley. I believe this to be the William Sutcliffe and Elizabeth Eckroyd line.
Coincidence though that it is another Joshua and Alice.

Mel, I have been to the records office this morning and saw this. As you have Sutcliffes and people over Heptonstall way I thought you may be interested.
St Bartholomews, Colne, baptism
9-12-1716
Sutcliff John
Father William
Mother Elizabeth Bertwisle of Heptonstall
Illegit

Thanks Gloria, filed for future reference.

Was this Preston? You don't have to book there do you?

Yes Preston, and no you don't have to book. There was only one other on the machines today but lots of people at desks. Sometimes I have been and all the machines have been taken up by 9-30am.

What about printers? Are they in a better state than at Burnley?

Not sure, don't remember ever printing anything off there. The good thing is the free parking all day. If you aren't a member you have to take ID--drivers licence / passport, there are lockers to put bags in, not many computers, but there must be 25 machines at least, mostly fische, only 5 film. Its like Aladdins cave
