PAPAPIETRO – WOODVINE
At St. Mary’s Church, Burnley, on Monday, the wedding took place of Miss Irene Woodvine, youngest daughter of Mrs. Woodvine, 82 Leyland Road, Burnley and Mr. Ralph Rocco Papapietro, a member of the U.S. Forces, son of Mrs. Papapietro, of 108, West Chestnut street, East Rochester, New York. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. J.J. Ingram, R.D.
Given away by her brother, the bride was attired in a French model dress of white satin with a veil of Brussels lace and headdress of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of pink tulips. She was attended by Miss Ann Woodvine (sister of the bride), who wore a clover-coloured dress with a head-dress and muff to tone, and Miss Eileen Cunliffe (cousin of the bride), who was attired in a blue and pink satin dress with a head-dress and muff to tone. Two small bridesmaids, niece of the bride, were dressed in pink satin with head-dresses to tone, and carried Victorian posies. P.F.C. Jack Jenkins, U.S.A.A.F., was best man and Sgt. Charles Heeney, U.S.A.A.F., was groomsman.
A reception was held at the Lubeck Café, Burnley, and later the newly married couple left for their honeymoon at the Isle of Man, the bride traveling in a pink suit with nigger brown accessories. Among the many presents received was a traveling bag from friends at a Blackpool factory where the bride is employed.
