BRIERCLIFFE GOLDEN WEDDING
Many congratulations have been received by Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Stuttard, of 17 Church street, Harle Syke, who celebrated their golden wedding last Saturday. They were married at the Burnley Register Office on October 12th 1889, and have always resided in Briercliffe.
Mr. Stuttard, who is 71 years of age, was born at Rowley Farm, near Worsthorne, and for a period prior to his marriage lived at Mustehalgh Farm. During his youth he was a prominent member of the old Haggate football team, and in late years has been keenly interested in the Briercliffe Bowling Club. Though he belonged to a farming family, he became a cotton weaver, an occupation which he still follows with the Harle Syke Mill Company. Mrs. Stuttard is 70 years of age, and was born at Catlow-row, Southfield. She and her husband are well known in connection with the Haggate Baptist Chapel. Of their family of five daughters and two sons, all except a daughter are still living and reside in Briercliffe. Mr. and Mrs. Stuttard, who have five grandchildren, celebrated their anniversary with a family party.
