BRIERCLIFFE.
WEDDING.-An interesting wedding took place on Tuesday at the St. James’s Church, Briercliffe, the contracting parties being Miss Bertha Greenwood, of 394, Briercliffe-road, and Pte. W. Eastwood, of the R.A.M.C. The vicar performed the ceremony. Pte. Fred Carter, R.F.A., acted as best man, while Miss Ada Greenwood and Miss Janey Riley were bridesmaids, Mr. Jas. Greenwood giving her away. After the nuptials the party and friends retired to the bandroom where tea was served. Then followed dancing, games, songs, &c., until supper was served. During the evening, cigars, &c., for the men and chocolate, &., for the ladies were served out. The happy couple received many handsome and really useful presents. Pte. Eastwood, who had got a short leave from France, had to return on Thursday.
