Burnley Express and News, September 12, 1936.

FORMER BURNLEY COUPLES JUBILEE.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Catlow, of 81, Marton-drive, Blackpool, celebrate their golden wedding this week. Both Mr. and Mrs. Catlow (who was before marriage Miss Martha Whittaker) are natives of Burnley, and lived in the town until going to reside in Blackpool thirty-six years ago. They attended Whittlefield Methodist, Sunday School and Chapel, and were married at Park Hill Chapel, Habergham Eaves, on September 11th, 1886, by the Rev. C. Stuchberry. They were attended at their wedding, as best man and bridesmaid, by Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Dickenson, formerly of Burnley, and now of 39, Keswick-road, Blackpool, who celebrated their golden wedding a few months ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Catlow had a family of three. Their eldest son, Mr. Harry Catlow, died in 1932 at Wren Green, near Blackpool, and the two surviving children are Mrs. Florence Stirzaker, of Blackpool, and Mr. Wilf. Catlow, of Cloughfold, Rossendale. There are six grandchildren.
