Marriage Festivities

The marriage of Mr. John Bulcock, second son of Mr. Thos. Jobling, of Netherwood, to Miss Mary Dent, daughter of Mr. William Dent, of Bend Hill, was celebrated at Briercliffe Church on Monday last. After the ceremony, an elaborate breakfast was provided at the house of Mr. Dent, for the very large number of guests who had assembled, amongst whom was Mrs. Stanworth, who said it as the third generation she had been an invited guest in connection with the bride's family. The helaths of the bride and bridegroom were proposed by the Rev. M. Gabbage, who spoke of them in kind and feeling terms. A pleasant evening was afterwards spent at the house of Mr. Jobling, Netherwood.

I wonder who the Mrs Stanworth was? I'll have a furtle in the bride's family. 3rd generation makes her the gt grandmother, and if the wedding was 1881 then I would be looking at 1800 at the latest. Am I on the right track? I think I am going to struggle without her first name.

Odd that Bulcock is the second son of Jobling...why isn't his surname Jobling?

Perhaps he was the offspring of an extra marital affair and he kept his mother's name??

Am I right in thinking the 3rd generation would be the gt grandmother? OR, is the 1st generation herself (Mary Dent) and therefore the 3rd generation would be grandmother??
