Silver Wedding Celebration

The celebration of the silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. T. Sutcliffe, of Greendale, View, Burnley, took place on Saturday last. Over 90 persons sat down to a substantial tea in the Church Institute, Briercliffe. A very pleasant evening was afterwards spent. songs were rendered by Miss Edith Lane, and gramophone selections were given. Dancing was indulged in. Mr. and Mrs. Sutcliffe were the recipients of many valuable presents
.

These are my great grandparents. I found a reference to the address in the write-up of their daughters marriage and then stumbled on this snippet. In the daughters marriage, it lists it as being in Harle Syke. From a little research, I believe it was somewhere in the Lanehead area, near to the school.

Nice to find something for my family that is not a murder or a suicide!

Grandad (Th'Owd Syker) mentions it as being just above Lane Head School, in one of his articles.
