1841 HO107/506/15 folio 32 pg 18 Shorey Heys, Briercliffe James Leaver 32 Farmer Y John Sutcliffe 7 Y Martha Sutcliffe 34 Y I wonder why Martha uses the name Sutcliffe when she has been married for almost a year? |

She might be like you Mel and keeping her Maiden name, if that child John Sutcliffe is hers that is another reason why she may want to keep her Maiden name. Stephanie. |

On the next census she is listed as Leaver. I think "" were used, John was above her on the apge so I guess thats another possible explanation. They don't half make you think sometimes! |
