Cotton Winder's Death
Following an illness of over five weeks, the death occurred at the Burnley Victoria Hospital last Monday night of Mrs. Mary Emma Nixon, wife of Mr. Cornelius Nixon, of 12, Jubilee-street, Harle Syke. She was only 47 years of age, and had suffered ill-health for about three years. A native of Burnley, she attended regularly at St. James's Church during her youth. She was married at Briercliffe Parish Church in 1909 and came to reside in the district during the last war. Of a quiet and homely disposition, she had been employed at most of the Briercliffe mills, chiefly at Walshaw Mill Co., and later at South View Manufacturing Co., where she worked up to three months ago. Her husband and one son survive her. The funeral took place yesterday in the Briercliffe St. James's Churchyard, the Rev. A. B. Dex, M.A., officiating.
