The Liverpool Mercury

Friday June 22 1827

On Friday morning, about eleven o'clock, at his house, in Mosley-street, Manchester, Lawrence Hitchon, Esq. but lately a resident in that town, and formerly an eminent woolstapler at Burnley, in this county. His death was awfully sudden, being found in his own dining-room extended on the floor with a wound on his head, occasioned by contact with the fender, having been seized, as it is supposed, by a fit of apoplexy.
