Hello Gloria,

No I don't think we have been in touch before but I have been in touch with Joan a lot some years ago and then again just recently. I have been trying to clear out some old papers and found a box of "pending" material that I had not got round to studying. Among these was a letter with a Stanworth family tree. When I compared it with the work that Joan and I had done some years ago I realized that there was some important new information. It is only recently that I found the Briercliffe Society Site with this topic so it seemed a good idea to tap into other people's knowledge. I come from Colne originally but have lived in Macclesfield for many years. Much of my family history was done before the internet so I have spent many hours in the libraries at Colne, Burnley and Clitheroe looking at the census and parish register microfilms. Crabtrees of Haggate are my other Burnley line.

Craig,
I believe this is the marriage of Benjamin Stanworth and Malley---
Copy of marriage cert both signed with X mark. Witnesses Jno Barker and Abraham Uttley
From familysearch
groom's name: Benjamin Stanworth
bride's name: Mally Stansfield
marriage date: 21 Jun 1789 marriage
place: Heptonstall, York, England
indexing project (batch) number: I03623-5
system origin: England-EASy
source film number: 1450493

If you look on the briercliffesociety homepage under family trees, you will find my Stanworth one. I don't think it is quite up to date but you can see where I descend from.
