http://www.burnleyexpress.net/burnleyne ... 6265367.jp If you read the article, it's not just artificial flowers. This ban actually extends to plants too. I can't make my mind up if I agree with this or not. My dad has always told us, 'I don't have artificial flowers in the house while I'm alive so don't give them me when I'm gone.' I do agree with the committees comments at the bottom of the article though. While people cope differently with losing a loved one, some graves do look busy. I suppose it's difficult to single those out particularly where such emotion is involved. |

It's a touchy subject really is'nt it, I have mixed feeling myself, dont agree with the artificial flowers I've never laid artificial flowers (no matter how lovely some of them look) and I myself would not like artificial flowers, you see some of them in the cemetary's and they look dirty and tatty when they have been out in all weathers for any length of time. As for other things left on graves I think if it helps the relatives greiving process then fair enough especially where a child is involved, but a line should be drawn of how far to go, like I say I can see both sides but it should be dealt with kindness and understanding.
