Name - Thomas Sutcliffe
Sex - Male
Age -77 years
Occupation - Formerly a cotton weaver.
Cause - Senile decay 1 year. Cardiac failure. Certified by A.M.Donaldson
Informant - Willie Sutcliffe. Son. 11 Burnley Road, Briercliffe.
Registered - 15 May 1912
Registrar - J Hawhensall?

Kris, this is the Thomas who I think had a Leaver mother. He lived with Leavers in 1841 HO107/506/15 folio 8 pg 8 Banks, Briercliffe with Extwistle
and with my Sutcliffes in 1851 at HO107/2251 folio 131 pg 17 Yeomans

Where - Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Reedyford Bridge Nelson
Name - James Henry Sutcliffe
Sex - Male
Age - About 62 years
Occupation - of 54 Halifax Road Briercliffe. Widower. Cotton weaver.
Cause - Drowned himself in the water of the Canal while not of sound mind. No PM
Informant - Certificate received from Frank Rowland Coroner for County of Lancaster Inquest held 27th August 1934.
Registered - 28 August 1934
Registrar - J W Stevens

This must be his wife

1902 – SUTCLIFFE Mary Ann of 11 Burnley road, Briercliffe, Lancashire (wife of Thomas Sutcliffe) died 28 December 1901. Administration Lancaster, 13 January to the said Thomas Sutcliffe, caretaker. Effects £171. 7s. 2d.

I wonder if this is a relation.

1910 – SUTCLIFFE Joshua of South View 17 Burnley Road, Briercliffe, Lancashire, died 20 February 1910. Administration London, 30 March to John Sutcliffe, joiner. Effects £2,459 11s. 1d.

I can match the William Sutcliffe who died in 1858 as the son of Samuel Sutcliffe and Susan Tattersall, he was birth details are (from the IGI)

Liverpool Mercury

Friday July 20 1855

On Monday, an inquest was held at the Hare and Hounds, Briercliffe-with-Extwistle, on view of the body of sarah Sutcliffe, aged two years, who was drowned on Wednesday night in a mug which ocntained soap suds, and which stood outside the house in which her mother lived. The mother had left the child for a few minutes for the purpose of making a bed upstairs, and when she came down she found her quite dead.
