It is, there was a registrar by the name of Thomas Sutcliffe way back then. Never figured out which Thomas he is (though I have not tried to!)

THE LATE MRS. M. A. SUTCLIFFE
Following a long illness, the death occurred at her home last Saturday morning of Mrs. Mary Alice Sutcliffe (70), wife of Mr. Willie Sutcliffe, of 11, Burnley road, Harle Syke. Born at Lanehead, she had lived practically the whole of her life in the Briercliffe district, and from her youth had been connected with the St. James’s Parish Church and Sunday school. She was also an active member of the Mother’s Union until her health failed. Her husband, four sons and one daughter survive her. The funeral took place last Tuesday afternoon in the St. James’s churchyard, the service being conducted by the vicar (Rev. A. B. Mary A Sutcliffe's maiden name was Robinson.
Her husband, Willie, was the son of Thomas Sutcliffe and Mary Ann (Brierley?).
