le Gendre is a family name of the Starkie family who own the Huntroyde estates (sort of Padiham/ Higham/ Simonstone area). Just in case you were interested

Question please:- Is it Maryville or Mayville and why I wonder was probate granted to his father and not his wife or daughter ?

I believe the family sold the house about 10 years ago and that it's been sold again since. They still own the estates tho.

Hi Shattonblad, the probate book says “Maryville-road, Brierfield”, but if you think this is wrong it could be a spelling error, I have seen them in the past.
