Joseph Sutcliffe of Yeomans within Briercliffe in the chapelry of Burnley and County of Lancaster Husbandman being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, after the payment of my debts burial expences and charges of the probate hereof. I Will and direct that my wife, Margaret shall have the Interest use and profits of all my personal estate as long as she continues my widow, and in case the said Interest use and profits shall at any time be insufficient for her maintenance and support I direct my Executors herein after named to take and apply so much of the stock or principal itself to the same uses or they or the major part of them shall in their discretion think needful and proper during her said Widowhood. And from and after the decease or second marriage of my said wife whether shall first happen I Will that all my said personal estate or so much thereof as may remain unexpended as afore said shall be equally divided amongst all my children then living with the lawful Issue of such as maybe deceased such Issue notwithstanding to take only the deceased Parents share, equally amongst them if more than one child. And lastly I appoint William Robertshaw of Burwains Gentleman and John Utley of Slack a yeoman both within Briercliffe aforesaid in the said Chapelry and County and my son William Sutcliffe Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Eighth day of the first month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.

William Robertshaw of Burwaines in the chapelry of Burnley and County of Lancaster, Gentleman and William Sutcliffe of the same place, Cordwainer, two of the Executors in this will named, were sworn in Common Form/Power being reserved to John Utley of Slack in the said Chapelry and County, Yeoman, the other Executor therein also named, to take upon him the Execution of the said Will, when he shall lawfully request the same and they further made Oath that the Personal Estate and Effects of the Testator, within the Diocese of Chester, were under the value of Two Hundred Pounds.

The Testator died the Nineteenth Day of August 1816
Probate issued Dated 21st September 1816

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Sutcliffe of Eastham Street Burnley in the Count of Lancaster made this thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and eighty I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made. I appoint my wife Betty Sutcliffe to be my Executor and direct that all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Betty Sutcliffe all my real and personal estate whatever and wheresoever to hold unto her her heirs executors and administrators according to the respective natures and qualities of the said premises absolutely and for ever

Signed by the said William Sutcliffe the testator in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.

Proved at Lancaster the fourteenth day of August 1880 by the oath of Betty Sutcliffe widow relict of the deceased the sole Executrise named in the Will to whom administration was granted.
The Testator William Sutcliffe was late of Eastham Street Burnley in the County of Lancaster Power Loom Weaver and died on the twenty seventh day of July 1880 at Eastham Street aforesaid.

On the fourteenth day of August 1880 the Will of William Sutcliffe late of Eastham Street Burnley in the County of Lancaster powerloom weaver deceased, who died on the 27th day of July 1880 at Eastham Street aforesaid was proved in Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice in the District Registry attached to the Probate Division thereof at Lancaster by the Oath of Betty Sutcliffe of No.2 Eastham Street aforesaid Widow relict of the said deceased sole

Executrice named (in the said Will) She having been first sworn duly to the administer.

Will - Administration
DEATH ON OR AFTER 1st JANUARY 1898
BE IT KNOWN that James Sutcliffe of Ford Bank Queens Park Road Burnley in the County of Lancaster died on the 14th day of October 1929 at Paletine Grange Nursing Home Withington in the said County intestate leaving Sarah ann Sutcliffe his lawful Widow and Relict who has ? Letters of Administration of his estate.
AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at the date hereunder written Letters of Administration of all the Estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the intestate were granted by His Majesty's High Court of Justice at the Principal Probate Registry thereof to Fred Sutcliffe of 1 Bank Terrace Sw? in the County aforsaid Alwyn Sutcliffe of Ford Bank aforesaid and Harry Sutcliffe of 244 Manchester Road Burnley aforesaid Manufactures the lawful Sons of the said intestate and three of the persons entitled to share in the estate of the said intestate.
Dated 11th day of January 1930
Gross value of Estate ..... £13,305 - 7 - 6.
Net value of Personal Estate £12,095 - 11 - 5.

Harle Syke woman dies at 94
BELIEVED to be the third oldest resident of Harle Syke, Mrs. Bertha Sutcliffe of 26 Queen Street died at her son's home, 31 Kibble-crescent, Burnley on Monday, aged 94.
Mrs. Sutcliffe a widow for the past 30 years had lived all her life in Harle Syke. She was born at Cockden Farm Cottage. She leaves three sons and a sister who is over 90.
Mrs. Sutcliffe was associated with the Haggate Baptist Chapel where the funeral will take place tomorrow.
