Yes, he is mentioned in a couple of wills. I need to sit down and connect all these people.

This connects to a will Kris posted on 4/7/07 for Edith Anne Berry, Queen St Harle Syke, effects to Percy Leaver.

I've had a sken through all the other Leaver wills and haven't yet spotted another reference to Ferdi - other than the ones Kris identified above, also the census entry

What an unusual name "Ferdi", I only know of one and that was in Briercliffe, born c1900-----Ferdi Thornton.

I wonder if it might be a shortened version of ferdinand - there are a couple of ferdinand leavers kicking around the midlands on the censuses.
