Personal Estate £9,194 16s. 9d.
7 July. The Will of John Hargreaves SCOTT, late of Oak Bank, Burnley in the County of Lancaster, Esquire who died 30 May 1881 at Oak Bank was proved at Lancaster by George Sutcliffe of Oak Hill, Burnley, cotton manufacturer and William Miller Coultate, surgeon and Robert John Hurtley, manufacturer, both of Burnley, the executors.

A PUBLIC PARK FOR BURNLEY.-Alderman Scott, J.P., one of the ex-Mayors of Burnley, who was interred on Thursday at the cemetery, has left £10,000 for a public park. He gave £1,600 to the Mechanic Institute two years ago.
