Four Deaths From Burning, In the Neighbourhood.
An inquest was held on Monday last, at School Lane, in Withnell, on the body of Mary ann Snape, who was accidentally burned whilst playing with other children in a neighbour's house. She died on the Saturday preceeding. Verdict, "accidental death."
An inquest was held at Briercliffe with Extwisle, on the same day, on the body of Dorothy Halstead, aged seventeen years, who yesterday week went into the brewhouse, where a fire was under a boiler, and in a short time came running out in flames. No one was in the place and she could not account for her clothes taking fire. She died on the same night. Verdict, ""accidental death."
An inquest was held on the same day, at Burnley, on the body of James Dearden, aged three years, whose clothes ignited whilst playing near the fire in the house of his parents during their absence. He died on Saturday morning. Verdict, "accidental death."
An inquest was held on the same day, at the George the Fourth, in Habergham Eaves, on the body of Robt. hoyle, aged three years, who was accidentally burned in his parents house Tuesday last, by his clothes taking fire. He died on Sunday. Verdict, "accidental death."
