Illicit Whiskey
On Monday last, at Burnley, Mr. John Lever, innkeeper, was fined £25 for having on his premises a worm and some illicit whiskey.

Breach Of The Burnley Improvement Act
On Monday, William Lupton, fireman for Messrs. R. and A. Clegg was charged by superintendent Carswell, with having thrown ashes into the Rover Brun. Richard Clegg, fireman for Mr. Fielding was charged with a similar offence. As these were the first offences that had come under the notice of the magistrates, the parties were discharged on payment of costs. The penalty for the offence is any sum not exceeding £40.
