The Burnley Standard Price for New Laid Eggs has been fixed by the Northern Utility Poultry Society at 5 for 1s. 1d. retail, and 4s. per score wholesale.

Woman Found Dead
An elderly woman, Mrs. Ellen Woods, living at 19, Blackburn-street, Burnley, was found dead there yesterday morning. She had been medically attended for dropsy recently.

Local Bakers Affairs
A receiving order has been made on his own petition against Samuel Hill, residing at 1, Pitt-street, Padiham, and carrying on business at 8a, Engine-street, Burnley, as a baker and confectioner. He has been adjudicated bankrupt.

Worsthorne

Cafe Fire
On Sunday evening flames were seen from the Central Cafe, owned by Messrs. Leaver and Todd. The outbreak was quickly subdued, but not before considerable damage had been done to the roof and the floors. It is supposed that the fire originated from a defective flue in the fireplace of the reading room which adjoins the cafe.

The Late Mr Lawson
On Saturday afternoon the funeral took place at St John's Churchyard of Mr. John M. Lawson. Deceased although of a very retiring disposition, was much esteemed in the village, where he had lived for many years. He was a staunch churchman, and a Liberal in politics. Among the many floral tributes was a wreath from the employees of the Worsthorne Manufacturing Co., Ltd., where he had been employed ever since the formation of the Company, eighteen years ago.

Death of Mrs. Heap
The death took place early on Saturday morning, at the house of her daughter, near Manchester, of Mrs. Sarah Heap. Deceased, who was in her 76th year, was a native of worsthorne, and had resided in the village nearly all her life. She was a sister-in-law of Alderman Joseph heap, J.P., of Blackpool, and mother of Mr. James Heap, mine host of the Bay horse hotel, Worsthorne. during her long life she had always been connected with the Wesleyan cause in the village, of which she was a staunch supporter and member. The interment took place on Tuesday afternoon in the chapelyard at Worsthorne, the Rev. J.H. Sanders officiating. Messrs. George Canby and Ellis Rawson represented the officia's of the Worsthorne Wesleyan Chapel, and among the floral tributes was one from the members.
