Saturday April 10 1847

Appointment
Mr. Robert Munn, of Burnley, has been elected registrar of births and deaths for the Burnley District, vacant by the resignation of Mr. Thomas Sutcliffe, bookseller and stationer. The appointment took place on Thursday last at the board-room, at the workhouse, and was almost unanimous; 30 out of 32 votes being in favour of Mr. Munn.

Something I have never looked into is who Thomas Sutcliffe is/was. One of these fine days I might just have a dig.

Thanks Maureen. I'm currently adding postcards to the main site but I will have a look at my file later to see if this family is in it or not.

Speaking of the postcards - Kris went to the postcard fair in London last week and bought quite a few. Another hour and they should all be visible within the photo archive.
