Death By Burning
On Saturday last, a girl named Mary Ann Armstrong, aged 16 years, an inmate of the Burnley Workhouse, died from the effects of being seriously burnt on the 26th ult. An inquest was held on view of the body at the Commercial Inn, Burnley, yesterday.

Fatal Accident
On Monday afternoon, as two men named respectively, Mark Kendal, aged 25, and Henry Spencer, aged 19, were engaged in getting coal at one of the mines belonging to the representatives of the late Colonel Hargreaves, at Bareclay Hills, within Habergham Eaves, they were unfortunately almost instantaneously killed by the falling of the roof, in consequence of having omitted to prop it in a secure manner. An inquest was held on their bodies, on Tuesday evening, at the Angel Inn, when a verdict was returned accordingly. Kendal has left a wiow (far advanced in pregnancy) and two children to lament his sudden bereavement; Spencer was a single man. - The latter was interred on Thursday evening, at Burnley Church, and the former at Habergham Eaves Church, in the presence of a great number of spectators. Spencer being a member of the Independent Oddfellows, was preceded to his last home by a number of his brethren, and both funerals (which in fact formed one solemn procession) were accompanied to their respective graves by the numerous workpeople belonging to the colliery.

Military Movements
A detachment of the 69th regiment of infantry, are expected to arrive at Burnley Barracks, on Monday or Tuesday next, to replace several companies of the 56th which were removed a few weeks ago.

This 'Commercial' was I think in the Market Square (I seem to remember from my misspent youth), it won't be the one at the end of Cop Row.
