Sudden Death
A case of very sudden death occurred in Burnley on Sunday evening last. A young man named William Varley, a weaver, aged 26 years, was walking out with his sweetheart, Rachel Nuttar, and whilst standing at smithfield-lane Bridge he fell down and expired immediately. Dr. Edwards was soon in attendance, but life was extinct, and in his opinion death had been causing by the bursting of a blood vessel internally. An inquest was held on the body on Monday last, at the Cross Keys Inn, when a verdict of "Died from a visitation of God" was returned.

Fatal Accident
Yesterday week, whilst a little girl named Pollard, aged two and a half, was trying to wash herself in a tub, she tumbled off the buffet on which she was standing and fell head foremost into the tub, and was immediately drowned. A verdict of "Accidental death," was returned at the inquest.
