Vagrancy

John Cartey and Thomas Mullin, two vagrants, were charged with having been begging, on Sunday, at Wheatley-lane. The offence being proved, the Bench committed Cartey to the House of Correction for twenty-one days, and Mullin for fourteen days. The Magistrates made this distinction in order that the two offenders might be separated, as they were in the habit of begging in concert.
