Christmas

The festivities and merry-makings so usual at this time of year, have been more than generally numerous. Tea parties have also been got up at most of the places of worship in the town, which, we believe, were all well attended. There was one thing which we felt much gratified in observing - the absence of those most disgraceful signs of drunkenness which generally infest our streets during holiday times - a proof that rational enjoyment is not to be found in the haunts of dissipation.
