Burnley News 6 July 1929 Nelson's Water Shortage Supply To Be Cut Off at 6 o'Clock Each Evening Despite the fact that Nelson have saved a considerable amount of water owing to so many people being away on holiday, the position is serious. The continued drought has reduced the storage in the reservoirs to a low level, as the feeding streams and catchment area are only yielding a small supply. The Water Committee have decided to cut off the water in the evening. From Monday next the water will be cut off at 6 pm. until 6 a.m. in the morning each day until the position improves. |
