The Cattle Disease
At a meeting of the magistrates, held at the Burnley Court House, on Monday, after the transaction of the public business, Mr. Anderton, veterinary surgeon, was appointed cattle inspector, under the Order in Council, for the Burnley Union, with the exception of the Chapelry of Colne and the townships of Barley and Roughlee. He was also appointed, at a weekly salary of one pound, to inspect all the cattle brought into market by butchers and others. A meeting on the subject, called by the Council of the Burnley Agricultural Society, was held in the Public Hall, on Thursday afternoon.
