General State of Health
We regret to say that the general state of health in Burnley, for some time past, has not been good, many people suffering fevers of the most malignant nature, scarlatina and typhus most abounding. In one district we were informed there are no fewer than 27 cases of typhus fever. The weather for these many weeks back has been really dreadful, which no doubt accounts for the untoward state of people's health.
