Accident

On Thursday morning last, many people in Burnley were much alarmed at hearing a report as of the bursting of a boiler, which appeared to come from the direction of Messrs. Spencer and Moore's factory, but it was discovered to have been occasioned by the bursting of one of the cylinders of the "tape legs." All the windows of the room in which the explosion took place were shattered to pieces; but as the workpeople engaged in the apartment were, fortunately, on the opposite side to the cylinder at the time of the accident, no injury to life or limb resulted from the accident.
