Mrs. Berry, of Burnley, addressed the members of the Harle Syke Sisterhood on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Ashworth presided and Miss E. Whitaker was at the piano.

Suffering from an injured back, the result of falling down the steps of a 'bus on Wednesday, Fred Lee (53), 21, Halifax-road, Briercliffe, was taken to the Victoria Hospital, Burnley.

At the meeting of the Co-operative Women's Guild held in the Assembly Rooms, on Wednesday night, Mrs. Kenyon (district secretary) spoke on "Social Security" in New Zealand and England." A vote of thanks, proposed by Mrs. France, was seconded by Mrs. white. A collection was taken for the central fund. Mrs. France was elected members' delegate to a conferecne to be held in Blackburn to-day (Saturday). Mrs. Carter presided.
