Used Without Licence
Mary Holt, of 16 May-street, Barrowford, summoned at the Burnley Police Court on Wednesday for using a motor lorry on Janusry 7th without license, was fined 5s. and costs. -Mr. Powell proved that the license was not taken out until January 16th. The defendant had not paid the mitigated penalty of 5s. fixed by the Corporation. -The defendant did not appear owing to illness, but a representative attended and said that she thought that she was allowed 14 days' grace.
