Terrible Death Of A Child At Haggate.

On Monday afternoon Rhoda Atkinson, aged 18 months, the daughter of Jas. and Mary Atkinson, of 20, Burnley-road, haggate, died in great agony. About two hours before she was in the kitchen, along with her sister, aged nine years, when, in the temporary absence of her mother, who had gone into a neighbour's house, the child fell, head first, into a pot containing hot water. The elder girl lifted her sister out, and went for her mother. Dr. Watson was sent for, and attended the child but death took place as stated.
