Briercliffe

Presentation.- On Friday the members of the Briercliffe Glee Union held a social at Graves' Cafe, which was well attended. During the evening the presentation of a black ebon baton, silver mounted, was made to Mr. Alfred Kippax, the late conductor. The middle mount bore the following inscription.- "Presented to Alfred Kippax by the members of the Briercliffe Glee Union, for services rendered." Mr. Kippax has been a hard worker on behalf of the choir, and has acted as leader since its formation some 18 months ago. He has had to retire on account of his health.
