Haggate

Laying a Foundation Stone

On Good Friday, the foundation stone of a new Baptist Chapel was laid at Haggate, by William Halstead, Esp., of Fulledge, Burnley. The ceremony took place in the afternoon. Addresses were delivered by Mr. Job Lee, of Keighley, and Mr. William Pickles, of Winewall. A collection was made in aid of the building fund. A public tea party was afterwards held in the old chapel, at which addresses were delivered by several friends.
