Any predictions for tonight’s game?

2 – 1 to Manchester United. Ronaldo to score first.

I'll second that Kris. Looking forward to it.

You are not alone Rex, I used to go on the Turf in the 60's when the likes of Jimmy Mac, Elder, and Irvine were playing, those were the days, what an atmosphere, not the same now I am afraid, think most of the players now are overpaid softies, they used proper footballs in those days too, when they got wet they could be lethal. Aw well!!!!

With me it was Accrington Stanley but my dad used to talk about Jimmy MacIlroy. He was a Burnley supporter all his life.

I did watch the Manchester United/Chelsea game, live at the very convenient time here of 3 p.m.

And another thing...

Matches today, having kicked off at 3.00, don't end till about 4.55.

When I was kid, at the end of the match I could get from my place at the cricket field end (straight down the tunnel and out onto Belvedere Rd) back home to Eastern Ave (very nearly on Briercliffe Rd) in time to get the results on Sports Report !

That of course was in the days when I could run.

Yes, I remember the matches ending at about 4:40. It was a 10-minute fast walk to my house, then gather round the radio by 5:00. I can still hear the announcer's voice in my mind.
