As the article notes, in Australia it's a matter of pride to be descended from a Transported Ancestor (I gather they aren't so keen on referring to ancestors as Convicts!). I suppose it's rather like being descended from a Mayflower Pilgrim in the USA - or a Lancashire Witch here! I'm still hoping.........
