Fascinating stuff. I absolutely agree with you, David Suchet showed what appeared to be a genuine interest in his family history. He also seemed genuinely disappointed when he failed to find the French photographers in the directory. He came across as a really nice chap who actually wanted to know his origins. I agree with you Stephanie, probably the best yet. I found Boris Johnsons' program equally as captivating though for different reasons - his was more like entertainment.

Mother in law has subscribed to the WDYTYA magazine. Having borrowed it today, I made a note of a few of the links featured. These are for holocaust researchers, apologies if these have already appeared somewhere on the site

http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/holocaust (this was in Septembers mag but is currently not working...temporary glitch?)

Mother-in-law said last night she thought there was a new series soon. I'll hit record now while I think about it.

Thanks!

Did anyone see the 'So you think you have royal blood' at the weekend? I can't remember what channel it was. I enjoyed that more than WDYTYA as the woman the cameras followed was almost a nobody....her brother was Jerome Flynn but it was quite a way in before that was revealed and not mentioned again.

Dont forget, Who Do You Think You Are, is on BBC1 tonight. There is also what sounds to be a promising programme on ITV1 at 9pm, it is a three part drama called 'Whitechapel', about Jack The Ripper. I am gonna record WDYTYA and watch Whitechapel.

Recording them both, neither appeal to Lyndon although he does like Rory so perhaps he will watch WDYTYA. This series looks to be a good one - Fiona Bruce next week.

Has anyone watched the new series?
The only one I have wanted to see so far (& missed because we were travelling) was Fiona Bruce. I recorded Rory bremner but have not yet watched it.
We watched Rick Stein last night. They didn't seem to go very far back with his family. The program seemed to centre around his fathers mental illness.
At one point, rick was looking at early 20th century newspapers online. I wonder what website it was?

We've watched them all. I didn't think Rick Stein's was very interesting, perhaps they struggled getting any further and therefore centred on the mental problems.
I couldn't have left the graveyard in China without having a right good look for the graves. He did seem to give up quickly on that bit, mustn't like fighting overgrown bushes/grass etc.

Maybe they did spend more time there but it got edited?

The records to that graveyard must be somewhere. I wonder why they didn't show an attempt to locate them?
This is one of my frustrations with the show, they rarely/never show the frustrations of endless hours of searching only to find absolutely nothing.
