Can't stand Chris Moyles but love David Mitchell, looking forward to their turns.

Watched Chris Moyles last night on WDYTYA, he started off getting on my nerves with his flippancy, but towards the end I warmed to him slightly when the flip front slipped and he genuinely seemed moved by what happened to his family, he seemed embarrassed by his emotion, but I thought it made him appear a better man for it.

Missed it completely last night. Probably won't run after it though - his voice goes through me...apparently he started his career in my area, or so I was told.

Notice that I said I warmed to him 'slightly' Mel, it was only slightly an all, he's too bumtious for my taste.

Struggled to enjoy it really. Like you both, not my kettle of fish--that man.

Watched last night's episode, Kate Humble, loved it. Was really surprised though that she didn't know anything about her grandfather who was the aerobatic and test pilot, considering there was so much information, photographs, etc. Even at the RAF Museum there was a photo of him on display with one of the planes he flew! Then there was her mother's father who had been in Stalag III (the great escape film - that one!) The family surely must have said something about these people at some time.

Did anyone else watch it?

I missed it, forgot it was on. I would have liked to have seen hers. Mind you, it gets repeated later in the week so I'll have a look for it.

Saw Chris Moyles through a repeat. Lyndon put it on and quite enjoyed it. Can't say that I did. My opinion of him is still the same.

I watched it Patricia, and thought it really good. I did think she would have known a lot of what was found out, but they have to make good tellie, and it was. What an interesting family, and what brave men, all of them.
Really riveting programme and well worth watching.

The wildlife TV presenter discovers that her flying grandfathers were each remarkable in their different ways.

Kate Humble has an unusual worry as she sets out to trace her family history. “The thing that kind of concerns me most is that I’ll discover that I’ve had an ancestor that’s done something really extraordinary,” she says. To find such forebears, she fears, would leave her feeling she’d somehow let them down.

Re Kate Humble programme. The gentleman at the end of the programme who showed Kate where together with her Grandfather he rested at a Farm during the long march is named Frank Stone. He is 86 years of age, plays extremely competitive golf (20 handicap) at my Golf Club, On our hilly course in the Peak District he is round in just over 3 hours. He was shot down twice and spent nearly four years at Sagan in Stalag Luft 3 where, for a short time, Douglas Bader was incarcerated. The POW Asociation arranged for him to travel back to Poland to "celebrate" the 60 years of the release which is where he met the BBC programmers.

We watched Kate Humble last night. What a fantastic episode. As you say, surprising that she was not already aware of some of the info but then again, how often are we told that old soldiers don't talk about what they went through. And who can blame them, imagine the trauma at the time - to re-tell it must be far too much to bear. We can only imagine what they saw and experienced.

It must have been difficult for Frank Stone to go back there, as he said - it was the lowest point of his life. What was running through his mind while she was oohing and ahing?

Somebody told me (or have I read it here?) that Kate is from the Lyons cakes family? Have I dreamt this? I am having some very strange dreams lately.
