Like I said got loads of stuff, Dialect Dictionaries, Receipe book ( Memories of kitchens, cooking and food in East Lancs), Book on Childrens Games and pastimes of yesteryear, books on Verses with a Briercliffe Accent, also got a book for £1 that should have been £5-99 called Pandemonium of the Pennines. Got some free Briercliffe Society Notelets showing Extwistle Hall (drawing) in its hayday, off Roger. By the way Mel were your ears burning.
Sorry you have this stinker of a cold, my husband has got it, he has had it for about 3 weeks, it wont shift.

One receipe I have come across today:

HOW TO BECOME GOOD LOOKING.
2oz. patience,
1 cupful of kindness,
4oz. good will, a pinch of hope, and a bunch of faith. To these add both hands full of industry, a packet of prudence, and a few sprays of sympathy. One hand full of the little plant called humanity must also be added, and a jar brimful of the spirit of good humour. Season the mixture with good strong common sense and simmer down together in the pan of daily content.

I thoroughly enjoy the meetings Stephanie. They are occasionally repetitive, but it often sparks conversation and you never know what you might learn.

I wonder what my Nan would make of my interest in the area? Wish she was here to talk about it!
